What's Your Address?

If you're a pastor and you don't have a blog, you may get strange looks when asked for your address and you tell them where you park your car. If a pastor doesn't have a blog in today's world of information technology, it doesn't mean his ministry is doomed to failure. However, a blog may be an effective way to help transform many of the sheep into the image of Christ.

Pastors have the privilege of speaking to the congregation for twenty minutes to an hour every Sunday morning and about the same amount of time for Sunday and Wednesday night. At best, a pastor gets to speak to the congregation for three hours a week. A blog can help to supplement the pastor's teaching and open the door for extended discussions on topics that are raised.

As a pastor, I have been bloggless now for over two years. Through the use of Facebook and Twitter, I have come to realize the benefit of technology to minister to the congregation. I can't promise eye opening points, funny anecdotes, spiritually transforming insights, or even consistent blogging, but I can promise this; I will write at least one blog. Finished.
